ANSI/TIA-942-C explained

ANSI/TIA-942-C is the May 2024 revision of the Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Centers. TIA states that it specifies infrastructure requirements for data centers and computer rooms of any size, including enterprise and multi-tenant facilities.

STANDARD OVERVIEW

What ANSI/TIA-942-C covers

The standard addresses site location, architecture, telecommunications, electrical and mechanical infrastructure, fire safety, physical security, monitoring, and related infrastructure considerations. Revision C also incorporates changes connected with newer technologies, sustainability, and current industry practice.

01

Rating terminology

ANSI/TIA-942 uses Rated-1 through Rated-4. The selected level should follow the owner's risk and business requirements; a higher number is not automatically the correct investment decision.

02

Readiness support

4sight can establish requirements, review designs, assess gaps, organize evidence, and prepare corrective actions for an authorized assessment.

03

Certification boundary

TIA states that certification is performed through TIA-licensed certification bodies. 4sight does not issue an accredited facility certificate.
